CS:MAP, Civil Society: Mutual Accountability Project. The goal of this project is to strengthen civil society and media capacity for effective oversight of public resource use and public service delivery

Objectives of the project :

Objective 1: Improved bottom up coordination between community, district, and national formal and informal CSOs engaged in public service oversight for constructive advocacy.

Objective 2: Improved citizen use of available GON social accountability mechanisms.

Objective 3: Improved citizen engagement in media and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools to strengthen public participation and oversight.

Objective 4: Improved organizational capacity for institutional governance, constructive government engagement and advocacy, financial sustainability, research and learning, and the institutionalization of GESI principles.

To create awareness about (SDG) sustainable Development Goal, FMDC conduct a event in District Court Premise Planting a Memorable Tree interaction with Head of Local Level and Disseminate the 17 point flex phot of celebrity and experts of their own field.

Under CS:MAP, What FMDC Does?

  • FMDC conducts and participates in regular talks, interactions and discussions in which they promote the concept of civil society, discuss its nature, challenges, and what needs to be done to make the sectors more vibrant
  • FMDC constantly engages with local elected representatives and officials to talk and promote the idea of civil society and its critical role in democratic governance
  • Generate evidence for discussion and policy advocacy (in PPWG, CA, Sajha Sabha, HEAD coalition and also feed into radio programs) through CA meetings, CAR works, LDAG discussions, use of ICT, media works including radio programs
  • FMDC has been working with civil society and government for helping marginalized community to get citizenship and other vital registration and support to access in public service delivery
  • A part this FMDC has started (Chiya Charcha ) Program where discussed about government service delivery system and use and importance of RTI

 

Key Activities

  • Conducted district level interactions on the role of civil society in the changed context
  • Held regular meetings of USG assisted community management structures created under CS:MAP (CA, LDAG, HEAD, PPWG)
  • Conducted social accountability training for government executives, elected representatives, civil society and media representatives to promote SA tools effectively
  • Conducted collaborative meeting among ward representatives and common assembly, for effective public service delivery and resource use
