Farwest Media Development Center (FMDC) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization working to promote inclusive development, social justice, human rights, and community empowerment in Far-Western Nepal. The organization focuses on strengthening the capacity of individuals and communities, particularly women, youth, marginalized groups, and vulnerable communities, to actively participate in social and economic development.
FMDC works closely with communities, civil society organizations, local governments, development partners, and other stakeholders to design and implement practical initiatives that respond to local needs. Its areas of work include community development, media and communication, youth empowerment, gender equality and social inclusion, human rights, livelihood development, capacity building, advocacy, and social awareness.
Through participatory approaches, FMDC seeks to connect communities with knowledge, opportunities, services, and decision-making processes. The organization uses communication and media as important tools for raising awareness, amplifying community voices, sharing information, and encouraging positive social change.
